Site preparation began and a groundbreaking ceremony was held for a new 10,000-square-foot fire station in Clifford, one block from the old one. Plans for the new building included a community center and the township trustee’s office.

1990

Two homes were heavily damaged by lightning strikes, power lines were downed by falling trees, and police and firefighters across the county were kept busy by a storm that blew into Columbus shortly after 5 a.m., packing 40 mph wind gusts and torrential rain.

1965

Fellowship Baptist Church broke ground for a new building at 23rd and Midway streets, the first of three units planned to include a sanctuary, Sunday school rooms and a full basement.
