Donald M. Skinner, 69, of Columbus, passed away at 11 a.m. Tuesday, September 8, 2015, at his residence.

He was born on November 21, 1945 in Columbus the son of Fred and Audrey Walker Skinner. He married Clara V. Bowling on April 20, 1989 in Columbus; she survives.

Mr. Skinner worked assembly line for Cummins Engine Company in Columbus for 46 years retiring in May of 2015. He served in the U.S. Air Force. He was a member of the N.R.A. His enjoyments were fishing, watching the Indianapolis Colts, hunting and his dog Coco.

He is survived by his wife, Clara Skinner of Columbus; one son, Jerry Skinner of Morgantown; one daughter, Jane (Shannon) Unsworth of Columbus; two step-sons, Charles Brian (Alexandra) Wall of North Vernon and Patrick Riley of Columbus; one step-daughter, Donna Mills of Columbus; four brothers, Martin (Donita) Skinner of Columbus, Al (Lou) Skinner of Kentucky, Phil Skinner of Westport and Joe Chapman of Arizona; three sisters, Pam Hynes of Columbus, Sandy Spencer of North Vernon and Cindy Hutchinson of Colorado; four grandchildren; seven step-grandchildren; one great-grandchild and four step-great-grandchildren.

In keeping with his family’s wishes cremation is planned. Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home and Cremation Services in North Vernon were entrusted with the arrangements.

Memorials in honor of Donald may be sent through the Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home and Cremation Services to Our Hospice of South Central Indiana.
