The Columbus Christian volleyball team swept visiting Southside Christian in three sets, 25-17, 25-21 and 25-13 on Monday.Savannah Spurgeon led the Crusaders, who are 6-5, with six kills, while Lauren Hunnicutt added five kills and Mayah Schundelmier and Hannah Lorimor each had four kills.Hannah Stair had three digs for Columbus Christian, while Grace Lorimor had two digs. Madison Henderson added 13 assists and five aces, and Michaela Schundelmier had two aces.

Lancers roll to win

EDINBURGH — Edinburgh upped its record to 17-5 overall and 6-0 in conference play with a 25-8, 25-14, 25-10 win against visiting Waldron.The Lancers’ junior varsity won in two sets to up their record to 6-2.

h drops road matchINDIANAPOLIS — Host Roncalli squeezed past Columbus North 3-2.The Bull Dogs, who are 10-7, captured the No. 2 singles match as Kevin Luo downed Chad Ransburg 3-6, 6-3, 6-3.

At No. 1 singles, Roncalli’s Blake Amonett defeated Aditya Mantri 6-2, 6-4 and at No. 3 singles, Jake Evans beat Lucas Huang 6-4, 6-4.

North won the No. 2 doubles match as Daniel Larken and Ammar Khaled defeated Jacob Allard and Alex Pollard 6-4, 6-2. Roncalli clinched the match by winning the No.1 doubles match as Keegan Cowgill and Michael Saling triumphed over North’s Nathan VanDeventer and Kevin Lin 7-5, 5-7, 6-4.

At No. 3 singles, Chase Ford downed Austin Schoenfeld 6-1, 6-2.At No. 1 doubles, Kinser Bryant and Anthony Weber teamed for a 6-1, 6-3 win against John Parker and Lucas Flanagan, while Parker Bryant and Dalton Bieker beat Luther Linville and Levi Armentrout 6-0, 6-2 at No. 2 doubles.

MADISON — The Seymour girls soccer team dominated Madison 5-0 in a Hoosier Hills Conference match-up.Marie Lenart notched two goals off assists from Kayla Griffin and Elizabeth Davis for the Owls.The Owls’ Andrea Ferrer scored off an assist from Katie O’Mara and Skyla Bowling was unassisted on her goal. The Owls (6-7-4, 3-2-1 HHC) travel to Columbus East on Thursday.
