Harry C. Erdmann, 87, of New Salisbury, passed away on Tuesday, September 29, 2015, at Hosparus Inpatient Care Center.
Harry was a member of the American Legion, Cecil Martin Post No. 250, and VFW Post 9107, both in Mitchell, Indiana.
He was a native of Bedford, Indiana, born Oct. 2, 1927, and graduated in 1945 from Bedford High School.
Surviving are his daughters, Marlene (Pat) Thompson of New Amsterdam, Indiana, and Suzanne (Charlie) McDermott of Jeffersonville, Indiana; 10 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren.; and brother, Thomas Erdmann of Columbus, Indiana.
Harry was preceded in death by his wife of 66 years, Jeanette Erdmann (nee Queen); a daughter, Janet Davis; parents, Bruno and Erna Erdmann; and a brother, Donald Erdmann.
A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 3, at E.M. Coots’ Sons Funeral Home with Brother Terry Graves officiating. Visitation will be Saturday until service time. Cremation was chosen. Military rites will be conducted by American Legion Post No. 250 at 2 p.m. Saturday at Cresthaven Memory Gardens Cemetery, 3522 Dixie Highway, Bedford, with a final prayer service by Minister Kenneth Buzek of Laconia, Indiana.
