The inaugural, free Newbern United Methodist Church Fall FunFest is scheduled for 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. today at the park outside the church, 15786 Main St. in Newbern. In case of rain, the festival will be inside the church.
Organizers said they are glad to see the Newbern Bridge replacement and road reconstruction project completed in time for the gathering. The event is designed for the entire family, with plenty of activities for youngsters.
There will be games, pumpkin decorating/crafts, a children’s skit and a free lunch.
