Gregory Alan “Greg” Snyder, 54, of Columbus, Indiana, passed away Nov. 1, 2015, at his residence. He was born June 26, 1961, in Franklin, Indiana, the son of William L. ”Bill” Snyder of Edinburgh, Indiana, and Frances J. Thompson Snyder, who preceded him in death.
He was married 15 years to Carol Manning Snyder and she survives. He is also survived by a daughter, Faith Snyder of Georgia; his biological father, James R. ”Jimmy” Burton of Edinburgh; a brother, Mark A. (Lori) Snyder of Georgia; a sister, Lisa (Kevin) Kelley of Hope, Indiana; stepdaughters, Cheryl Portier of Columbus, Aimee Mezick Gilliland of Hueytown, Alabama, and Kayla Ballweg of Cummings, Georgia; a stepson, Kenneth Tilley of New Castle, Indiana; and nine grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his mother; a daughter, Jessica Nicole Snyder; and a sister, Sarah Jane Snyder.
Greg attended Garden City Church of Christ. He had worked as a grill cook for Waffle House Restaurant in Columbus, Scooter’s Restaurant in East Columbus and Jill’s Diner in Columbus.
He enjoyed watching NASCAR, was a Tony Stewart fan and also enjoyed dirt-track racing.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
