Alice Weichman

Port Clinton, Ohio

Alice L. Weichman, 90, of Port Clinton, Ohio, a former Columbus resident, died Sunday, Dec. 20, 2015, at Edgewood Manor Nursing Center in Port Clinton.

She was born in Bartholomew County January 20, 1925, the daughter of Henry H. and Clara M. Tiemeyer Weichman. She was a lifelong member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, Clifty, and confirmed April 2, 1939. She served as financial secretary, treasurer and head of the prayer chain at the church. She attended a one room school house just north of the church, all eight grades, graduating from Columbus High School in 1943. She graduated from Columbus Business College in 1944 and graduated from Purdue University with a two year degree in computer technology in 1975.

Miss Weichman worked for ASC Office in Columbus Court House for ten years and Cummins Engine Company for 30 years retiring in 1984. She was a member of the Columbus Senior Center, enjoyed volunteering at the Senior Center and Visitors Center. Was a Democratic Precinct committeeman and was elected as a delegate to Democratic state convention. She also served on the board of Cummins Credit Union for three years.

She is survived by her cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents.

Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 30, 2015, at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Clifty with Pastor Douglas Bauman officiating. Calling will be from 10 a.m. to service time at the church.
