Mariearle Day Barker, 73, of Columbus, died at 11:45 p.m. Wednesday, February 3, 2016, at Our Hospice of South Central Indiana Inpatient Facility.
Mariearle retired in 2014 from Columbus Regional Hospital where she had worked for over 20 years.
Cremation is planned. A gathering of family and friends will be held from 1 to 3 p.m. Sunday at Barkes, Weaver & Glick Funeral Home on Washington Street.
Memorial contributions may be made to Our Hospice of South Central Indiana or the American Cancer Society.

Mariearle was born in Letcher County, Kentucky, June 16, 1942, the daughter of Raymond and Minnie Vee Miller Day.
Survivors include her children, Jeannine (Mark) Roberts, Scarlett (Steve) Pruitt and Bradley (Lisa) Barker, all of Columbus; grandchildren, Mason and Clay Roberts and Ava and Reese Pruitt, all of Columbus; and a brother, Raymond (Carol) Day of Pond, Virginia.
She was preceded in death by her parents and an infant brother.
