Time to Give Back

Volunteers almost everywhere at some point have labeled their giving back a matter of the heart, an appropriate symbol for February’s emphasis on love. You can love the chance to feel needed and valued with these opportunities, plus more on Page XX (fill in page number).

1 HOUR

Helping with ch-ching and ch-change: United Way of Bartholomew County needs volunteer financial coaches to confidentially help people develop an action plan to meet financial goals and solidify their financial future. The trained coaches will help people identify resources and offer general guidance, support and encouragement. Needed for a six-month basis. 2 HOURS

Hablas español? The Boys and Girls Club of Columbus needs a bilingual Spanish Learning Center teaching assistant to help teach Spanish and Spanish culture to children ages 4 to 12 from 9 to 11 a.m. Saturdays at Foundation for Youth, 405 Hope Ave. in Columbus. Must be patient and willing to adjust to youngsters’ learning styles. There is strong support for the teachers and assistants. Information: 623-694-0095 or [email protected].

3 HOURS

A not-so-taxing task: United Way 2-1-1 needs volunteers to answer phones and/or return calls for people to schedule appointments for free tax-preparation assistance through March 31.
