Claranne Manning, 83, of Columbus died at 6:56 p.m. Friday, June 10, 2016, at her home.

She was born March 29, 1933, in Dayton, Ohio, the daughter of Michael and Anna B. Kender Lorenz. She married John E. “Jack” Manning in Dayton, Ohio, April 15, 1950; he survives.

Claranne was a member of St. Bartholomew Catholic Church and John Purdue Club. Along with her husband, they were avid contributors and supporters of The Humane Society, Wounded Warriors and Purdue University. She was retired from the Bartholomew County Health Department. Following retirement they lived for a time at The Villages in Florida.

She is survived by her husband, John E. “Jack”; daughters, Cindy (Jeff) Reed of Columbus and Becky (Steve) McAtee of Loogootee, Indiana; sister, Dolores Lorenz of Columbus; grandchildren, Julie, Amy, Heather, Michael, Nick and Jennifer; and seven great-grandchildren.

Private inurnment will be in Calvary Cemetery, Dayton, Ohio.
