COLUMBUS, Ind. — The Columbus City Council tonight tabled a final vote until October on a proposed ban on chickens as pets within city limits.
A 10-member committee of city residents — five in support and five against — will be formed to study the issue along with two council members, who have yet to be named.
The committee will bring a proposal for a compromise to the council in October.
