Columbus police hire new officer

The Columbus Police Department has hired Logan Adams as its newest officer.

Adams, 27, is a native of Princeton and graduated from Gibson Southern High School. He attended the University of Southern Indiana before enlisting in the U.S. Army and serving five years. He was assigned to the 75th Ranger Regiment and deployed to Afghanistan in 2013.

After a short in-house orientation period, Adams will attend the 210th Class at the Indiana Law Enforcement Academy.

Adams and his wife Laura have three children.
