Pine Ridge Drive
Betty J. Kendall Williams, 88, of Pine Ridge Drive, passed away at 3:50 a.m. Friday, December 2, 2016, at Our Hospice of South Central Indiana Inpatient Facility.
Betty was born June 1, 1928, in Shelbyville, the daughter of Horten M. and Dorothy Lucille Fowler Kendall. She married Jesse V. Williams Jr. on April 20, 1947.
Betty graduated from Columbus High School in 1947 and worked retail for many years. She and her husband participated in “Belles & Beaux” Square Dancing Club and Betty enjoyed collecting anything chicken related, as well as playing bingo and other games. She especially loved spending time with her family and going to family functions.
A memorial service will be at conducted at 10 a.m. Wednesday, December 7, 2016, at Jewell-Rittman Family Funeral Home with the Rev. Dennis Aud officiating. Calling will be from 9 a.m. until service time Wednesday. Burial will be at Garland Brook Cemetery at a later time.
Memorials may be made to Our Hospice of South Central Indiana or Westside Community Church.
Survivors include sons, Larry Williams of Columbus and Timmy Williams of New Carlisle, Ohio; daughters, Linda (Jim) Nay, Janet Sue (James) Spurlock and Marie (Phil) Fox, all of Columbus; grandchildren, Chad (Ann) Nay, Alison (Jeramie) Vandergriff, Ben Clerkin, Ashly Spurlock and Stephenie (Jeremy) Davis; great-grandchildren, Andy Barker, Louie Vandergriff, Leigh Vandergriff and Isobel Clerkin; a great-great-grandson, Atlas Storm; and a sister Virginia “Ginny” Kendall of Columbus.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband on April 9, 2006; a son, Ricki Lynn Williams; granddaughter, Kelly Rae Fox; great-grandson, Charlie David Vandergriff; a brother, Robert A. Kendall; and a sister, Evelyn E. Coles.
