Core sampling work on northbound I-65 planned Friday

Core sampling work along Interstate 65 between U.S. Highway 50 and State Road 58 will begin Friday.

The Indiana Department of Transportation has hired Milestone to extract cores of pavement in sampling, and the work had been scheduled for last week. It was canceled due to poor weather, but now is planned to start Friday, INDOT officials said.

Motorists are advised to be aware that crews and equipment will be along northbound I-65’s outside shoulder between Seymour in Jackson County and the Walesboro exit in Bartholomew County from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Friday. The northbound right lane of I-65 between those two exits will be closed to traffic when core operations are occurring.
