Investigators seek tips on church arson, vandalism case

Investigators are seeking information about an attempted arson and vandalism at Ohio Chapel United Methodist Church, 111275 W. County Road 525S.

Bartholomew County Sheriff’s deputies were called at 2:29 p.m. Saturday when a caretaker discovered the vandalism and said one room in the church had been set on fire.

Deputies said most of the church’s windows were broken and furnishings throughout the building were broken. A basement room was set on fire but went out by itself before it was discovered, deputies said.
