Local man arrested on drug-related charges after warrant stop

Columbus police arrested a local man on drug-related charges in addition to two active arrest warrants pending for him.

Columbus Police Officer Wesley Dodge saw Jacob A. Perry, 29, Columbus near 12th and Union streets at about 3:20 p.m. Sunday, said Lt. Matt Harris, Columbus Police Department spokesman. Dodge confirmed there were two active arrest warrants for Perry and took him into custody, Harris said.

While searching Perry, Dodge found dug paraphernalia containing methamphetamine as well as two syringes, Harris said. Officers located several debit cards in Perry’s wallet that did not belong to him, Harris said.

Perry was arrested on preliminary charges of possession of methamphetamine, possession of a legend drug injection device, possession of drug paraphernalia and the two warrants, Harris said.
