CPR class: Learn to save a life

An American Heart Association Heartsaver first aid, CPR and AED course will be offered in March at the Bartholomew County Public Library.

The training, presented by 1 Life 2 Live CPR, will be from 1 to 4:30 p.m. March 10 at the library, 536 Fifth St., Columbus.

The course covers adult CPR and AED use; opioid-associated life-threatening emergencies; child CPR and AED use; infant CPR; first aid basics and choking in an adult, child or infant. It also offers the basics of first aid for the most common life-threatening emergencies, covering how to recognize them, how to call for help and how to perform lifesaving skills.

Heartsaver courses are intended for anyone with little or no medical training who needs a course completion card for job, regulatory or other requirements. These courses also can be taken by anyone who wants to be prepared for an emergency in any setting.

There is a $100 fee for this course, which includes the card fee, double certification and a 2-year registration with the American Heart Association.
