Jenny’s picks – March 1

1) Not only do I not have a green thumb, I may in fact have a black thumb. Maybe I can set my gardening mojo straight during the Beginner Gardener class, 10 a.m. Tuesday at the Bartholomew County Public Library, 536 Fifth St. in Columbus. Attend and you will leave the sessions with a garden plot on paper and the knowledge base to plant their own vegetable garden when spring arrives. The class is taught by members of the South Central Indiana Master Gardeners Association. Information: 812-379-1266 or mybcpl.org.

2) Those of us who grew up in the ’80s can relive some memories at the Historic Artcraft Theatre’s screening of John Hughes’ classic teen dramedy “Pretty in Pink” at 2 and 7:30 p.m. March 9 and 10 at 57 N. Main St., Franklin. Information: historicartcrafttheatre.org.
