Roy Lee Anderson, 72, of Columbus passed away at 6 p.m. on Saturday, March 17, 2018 at his residence.

He was born on January 18, 1946 in Moss, Tennessee, the son of Roby Blair and America Etta (Jenkins) Anderson.

He was raised in Columbus and lived most of his life there.

Roy graduated from Columbus High School in 1964.

He worked at Reliance Electric from 1965 to 1978.

He attended the Who So Ever Will Church in Edinburgh.

He enjoyed golf and has played baseball and softball for 34 years.

Survivors include his former wife, Linda Anderson; daughter, Anita (Alvin) Kubik of Hartsville, sons, Michael Lee (Therese) Anderson and Timothy Carl (Susan) Anderson, both of Hartsville; sister, Kathy (Steve) Humphreys of Columbus, brothers, Robert (Madonna) Anderson of Indianapolis, Arthur (Betty) Anderson, Ray (Cheri) Anderson and Tony (Brenda) Anderson, all of Columbus; six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, James Anderson, sister, Linda Lynnl and a niece, Stephanie Dahl. As per Roy’s request he is to be cremated and there are to be no public services, however a private service is being planned.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Bass & Gasper Funeral Home in Westport.

Memorial contributions may be made through the funeral home to assist the family with funeral expenses.
