Columbus police arrested two people after a traffic stop near McKinley Avenue and McClure Road.
Columbus Police Officer Drake Maddix saw a vehicle without a license plate at 12:10 a.m. Sunday near the intersection and spoke to the driver, Randal Davis, 21, Columbus and his passenger, Parker C. Dean Harsh, 22, Columbus, said Lt. Matt Harris, Columbus Police Department spokesman.
Officers learned a short time later that Davis had a suspended driver’s license and he was taken into custody, Harris said. While searching the vehicle, officers found a bag of methamphetamine in the vehicle’s passenger side door compartment. After locating the narcotics, officers took Harsh into custody too, Harris said.
A continued search of the vehicle resulted in officers finding several syringes. Officers also found marijuana in Harsh’s wallet after he was arrested, Harris said.
Davis was arrested on preliminary charges of possession of a legend drug injection device and driving while suspended with a prior conviction, Harris said. Harsh was arrested on charges of possession of a legend drug injection device, possession of methamphetamine and possession of marijuana, Harris said.
