Take a stand against child abuse

You have two opportunities this week to help raise awareness about child abuse.

Tonight, a presentation will be conducted on preventing, recognizing and reacting to child sexual abuse, 6 to 8 p.m. at the Bartholomew County Library, 536 Fifth St., Columbus.

Members of the community are invited to wear blue Friday, which has been designed as Blue Day by Family Service, Inc. and the Child Abuse Prevention Council of Bartholomew County.

The purpose of Child Abuse Prevention Month is to urge everyone to play an active role in preventing child abuse and neglect, as well as take positive action to promote child and family well-being, according to the national event’s website.
