James Marshal Curry, 74, formerly of Edinburgh and Seymour, passed away April 17, 2018 at his home surrounded by his loving family.

He was born September 8, 1943 in Taylorsville, to the late James W. Curry and Louise (Giles) Curry Crouch.

He married Ruby Frances (Johnson) Curry July 28, 1962 in Edinburgh. She passed away June 28, 1997, and for the rest of his life he never removed his wedding band for his one and only true love in life.

James served in the U.S. Army, worked construction, and was a truck driver for many years.

He enjoyed fishing, watching NASCAR, listening to old classic country music, and spending time with his family and friends. He enjoyed helping people in their times of need.

He leaves behind four children, Robin (Whitney) Curry, Tammy (Scott) Corbin, Tracy (Cheryl) Curry and Angela Flores.

He was preceded in death by a son, Johnny Allen Curry.

He also leaves behind 12 grandchildren, Nickolas Curry, McKenna Curry, Markita Turner, Jonathon Campbell, Aiden Powers, Autumin Curry, Jesse Curry, Alex Curry, Trevor Sebaston, Chase Adorno, Dalton Jimez, Colten Flores; and three great-grandchildren.

He is also survived by four sisters, Donna (Keith) Growe, Mary (Jack) Newkirk, Gail Stocken, Vicki (Mark) Aydt.

He was preceded in death by his sisters, Judy Miller, Stella Adams, Shirly Hagan, and one brother, Johnny Curry.

A funeral service will be conducted Saturday, April 21, 2018 at 2 p.m. by the Rev. Douglas Smith at Eskew-Eaton Funeral Home in Edinburgh. Calling will be from 11 a.m. until the time of service. Burial will be at Rest Haven Cemetery in Edinburgh.
