Olympians edge Trojans
ST. LEON — Columbus East climbed back to the .500 mark Wednesday by pulling out a 3-2 victory at East Central.
Ayano Nomura beat Rachel Kraus 6-1, 6-1 at No. 3 singles for the Olympians (6-6). Megna Chari and Kathryn Hodzen downed Kelly Buescher and Jaylen Hilbert 6-1, 6-0 at No. 1 doubles, and Maddy Rhodes and Emie Kiser topped Brooke Stonefield and Grace Kraus 6-3, 6-2 at No. 2 doubles.
Columbus East’s Louna Prince fell to Maddie Davidson 7-6 (3), 6-3 at No. 1 singles. Jenna Shoaf lost to Carly Kane 6-0, 6-2 at No. 2 singles.
Jets fall just short
HOPE — Hauser won both doubles matches, but Madison swept the singles matches to pull out a 3-2 win.
Abby Johnson and Sarah Tedder beat Grace Brautigana and Hannah Huff 6-1, 6-1 at No. 1 doubles for the Jets (6-2). Melanie Taylor and Kylie Lock downed Emma Lustetter and Destinee Sadler 6-0, 6-3 at No. 2 doubles.
Hauser’s Alana Owen fell to Kourtney Neukam 6-4, 6-4 at No. 1 singles, Madie Sherman lost to Regin Dean 6-4, 6-1 at No. 2 singles and Maddy Archer fell to Olivia Kelley 6-2, 6-3 at No. 3 singles.
Highlanders blank Eagles
NASHVILLE — Floyd Central won four matches in straight sets Wednesday in a 5-0 win at Brown County.
Hallee Miller fell to Jasmine Shireman 7-6 (6), 6-1 at No. 1 singles, Julia Williams lost to Peyton Whitehouse 6-4, 6-3 at No. 2 singles and Cassidy Davis fell to Abby Jamison 3-6, 6-1, 6-3 at No. 3 singles for the Eagles (4-8).
Brown County’s Jacey Ferguson and Leah Tucker lost to Lindsey Dorsch and Kate Sparrow at No. 1 doubles, and Baelyn Koester and Olivia Baughman fell to Katie Weimer and Morgan Hamilton at No. 2 doubles, both by 6-1, 6-1 scores.

Bull Dogs take third
FRANKLIN — Columbus North finished third in a tri match at Hillview. No. 1-ranked Center Grove won with a 285 to 305 for Franklin and 311 for the Bull Dogs.
Drew Smith led North with a 2-under-par 70. Henry Kiel carded a 77, Reese Moore added an 81, Cameron Ziegler shot 83, Jacob Niedbalski and Luke VanDeventer each shot 84 and Jackson Kerber had an 88.
Eagles down Bluejackets
NASHVILLE — Parker VanNess won medalist honors with an even-par 36 to lead Brown County 182-213 win against Mitchell at Salt Creek.
Ben Rygiel and Brendon Asher each shot 47 for the Eagles. Curtis Lookebill added a 52, and Peyton Proctor had a 56.

Columbus Christian falls
Columbus Christian led 5-4 after three innings, but Traders Point Christian scored 10 times in the fourth and went on to post a 20-8, five-inning victory.
Tyler Bumbalough had a double and three RBIs for the Cougars (1-4).
Lancers rally for win
EDINBURGH — Edinburgh trailed Southwestern (Shelby) 9-6 after 4½ innings, but scored nine times in the fifth and two in the sixth to claim a 17-9 MHC win.
Zach Giles hit two of the four home runs for the Lancers (8-6, 7-3), going 2 for 3 with four RBIs. Parker Bryant went 2 for 5 with two RBIs, Bryce Burton had a home run and four RBIs and Zach Murphy added a home run.
Red Devils top Panthers
NORTH VERNON — Nine of Jeffersonville’s 15 hits went for extra bases in its 12-1, six-inning win at Jennings County.
The Panthers (2-12) trailed only 1-0 after three innings, but the Red Devils scored seven times in the fourth to break it open.
Mustangs stop Eagles
ELLETTSVILLE — Edgewood jumped out to a 15-1 lead after two innings and went on to hand Brown County a 22-8, five-inning loss.
Grant Suding went 3 for 4 with two RBIs, and Justin Partyka went 3 for 4 for the Eagles (4-13, 3-3). Eli Snider went 2 for 3 with two RBIs, and Isaiah Luenebrink had two RBIs.
Edgewood and Brown County also met in a Western Indiana Conference game on Tuesday, with the visiting Mustangs winning 5-3.

Lancers rout Spartans
EDINBURGH — Maddi Clark threw a two-hitter with 10 strikeouts and went 4 for 4 with a double at the plate to lead Edinburgh to an 11-1, six-inning MHC win against Southwestern (Shelby) on Wednesday.
Abby Schooler went 3 for 3 with a double and a triple, and Morgan Calhoun went 3 for 4 with a double and two RBIs for the Lancers (11-4, 9-1). Sidney Beier went 2 for 3 with a double, and Emma Wade went 2 for 4 with two RBIs.
Eagles drop rematch
ELLETTSVILLE — A night after beating Edgewood to win the WIC Eastern Division title, Brown County did not pitch ace Emma Summers in Wednesday’s nonconference game, which the Mustangs took 20-5 in five innings.
Emma Summers did go 2 for 3 with a home run and three RBIs for the Eagles (11-3), Sara Fishel and Marley Nickels each went 2 for 3 with a double, and Allison Stogsdill and Aubrey Hollander each went 2 for 3.

Panthers sweep Cubs
MADISON — Jennings County rolled to a pair of victories Tuesday at Madison. The Panthers won the boys meet 82-50 and the girls meet 99-33.
Alexis Harsh led the Jennings girls with wins in the long jump (15 feet, 10¼ inches), 100 meters (12.5 seconds) and 200 (26.8). Kayla Truesdell took the shot put (40-1¼) and discus (124-1½).
Other winners for the Panthers were Halle Stearns in the pole vault (8-0), Alana Daeger in the high jump (4-8), Kaylee Ebinger in the 1,600 (6:06), Izzy Daugherty in the 400 (1:06), Baylee Byford in the 800 (2:43) and Emma Morrison in the 3,200 (13:06). Jennings also captured the 4×100 (54.4) and 4×400 (4:27) relays.
Isaiah Ertel led the boys with wins in the 110 hurdles (16.9) and 300 hurdles (43.7). Other winners were Dylan Carney in the pole vault (10-6), Benton Hamann in the high jump (5-8), Dalton Craig in the 1,600 (4:50), Jason Gasper in the 800 (2:09) and Carter Leak in the 3,200 (10:58). The Panthers swept the 4×800 (9:04), 4×100 (46.4) and 4×400 (3:39) relays.
