• the city designers for making a safe intersection for Parkside Elementary students to walk everyday, making drivers slow down and think about every move when approaching a student walkway, which is imperative to student safety.
• writers of excellent letters to the editor about Sheriff Matt Myers.
• Parkside fifth-graders, the city of Columbus and Healthy Communities for making our neighborhood safer for elementary students, and for our neighbors with your traffic-calming efforts.
• John and Bill and the hardworking crew of Moore’s Roofing for the excellent professional installation of our new roof and complete cleanup afterwards.
• the local arts council, schools, teachers, students and docents for sharing in the art smart program since 1985, from Ginny Gilbert.
• all the Columbus police officers who addressed a neighborhood situation Tuesday night, because your patience, calmness and professionalism are commendable.
• whoever is responsible for taking charge and controlling the high school students after many years of them tearing up homeowners’ properties that surround the school.
• Parkside parents who are learning new driving behaviors as they slow down to enter and exit at school, making the intersection of Parkside and Arlington safer for all users of the street.
• Natalie, Donovan and our post office staff for their work in locating my small package and, then, making a special trip to put it in my mailbox, from Alice.
• Josh at the west-side Walmart for helping me get the two lawn chairs in my car.
• Onions to
• the elementary school that holds sixth-grade graduation in the middle of the afternoon, making it difficult for most parents to make it.
• the candidate who is shown shooting an AR-15 in his campaign TV ad, because he obviously doesn’t have a clue what representation we need in Washington.
• individuals complaining about an elementary school project but who put forth no effort to solve the problem these kids are addressing.
• people that attack a comedian for pointing out the lies coming from the White House but remain silent after a former mayor and current Trump lawyer reveals the White House is lying.
• those who refer to “inmates” as “residents.”
• the people who were cussing and arguing at the cemetery during a burial.
• the employee who continues to lie to management about his actual reason for long lunches on Thursdays.
• the town council and manager in the small town who will not fight for the residents regarding outrageous water bills.
• those that allow Fourth Street to be an ash tray.
