Singer Kyla Jade, 34, daughter of the Rev. Mike Harris and stepdaughter of Secenia Harris of Faith, Hope and Love Church of God In Christ on Indiana 7, finished third in viewer voting on the NBC show The Voice Tuesday evening.
On the show, she was part of Team Blake, guided by country music star Blake Shelton. The winner was Brynn Cartelli.
On Tuesday’s show, she performed “I Know Where I’ve Been” with Jennifer Hudson. Jade has been a backup singer for Hudson on tour.
“Her fan base has really increased,” said Mike Harris, who watched the show from home. “As a father, I am so proud of her. She has been a winner for me for the last 34 years of her life.”
Jade, who was born in Topeka, Kansas, lives in Nashville, Tennessee. She has toured as a backup singer with artists such as Wynonna Judd and soon will tour with Patti LaBelle.
