June Munt, 83, of Columbus, passed from this life at 12:11 p.m. Wednesday, May 16, 2018, at her home.
Mrs. Munt was born April 6, 1935, in Louisville, Kentucky, the daughter of Raymond and Mildred Smith Ash.
She married James C. Munt April 20, 1956. He preceded her in death February 20, 2014.
Mrs. Munt graduated from Indiana University with a Bachelor of Arts in English and a Master of Arts in Library Science.
From 1975 to 1984, Mrs. Munt was employed at Cummins Engine Co. and she later owned a franchise of Money Concepts financial planning.
She was a longtime resident of Grandview Lake.
She had a passion for hosting others, whether it be at the lake, during the holidays or at a simple picnic.
She participated in bridge clubs and enjoyed gardening, playing tennis and spending time with family. She was a voracious reader.
Mrs. Munt is survived by her children, Kimberly (Gregory) Wasson of Long Grove, Illinois, and David (Yanice) Munt of Columbus; grandchildren, Christopher Munt, Lindsay (Michael) Lingle, Courtney (Cameron) Iverson and Katherine (Zachary) McDaniel; and a sister, Joyce (Russell) Hedger of Birmingham, Alabama.
Mrs. Munt was preceded in death by her parents and her husband.
The funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Monday at Barkes, Weaver & Glick Funeral Home on Washington Street. Family and friends may call from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday and from noon until service time Monday.
Entombment will be at Garland Brook Mausoleum.
