Nalanie Cortez and Rachel Sabotin won High-Point Awards in their age divisions to lead Club Olympia in last weekend’s FAST 500 Invitational at Fishers High School.
Cortez won the 13-14-year-old girls 50 freestyle, 100 freestyle, 200 freestyle, 400 freestyle, 1,500 freestyle, 100 butterfly and 200 individual medley. She also finished second in the 400 IM third in the 100 breaststroke and fourth in the 100 backstroke.
Sabotin won the open girls 200 freestyle, 400 freestyle, 1,500 freestyle and 200 butterfly. She also placed second in the 100 butterfly, 200 backstroke, 200 IM and 400 IM; third in the 100 freestyle and fourth in the 50 freestyle.
Misha Machavariani finished fourth in the 11-12 boys high-point standings. He took second in the 400 IM and 1,500 freestyle; fourth in the 50 breaststroke, 100 breaststroke and 100 butterfly; fifth in the 200 freestyle; sixth in the 200 IM and 400 freestyle; seventh in the 100 backstroke; eighth in the 50 backstroke and 16th in the 100 freestyle. His time in the 1,500 freestyle ranks seventh in the country for 11-year-olds.
Brady Beyer placed fourth in the 13-14 boys high-point standings. He finished second in the 100 breaststroke and 400 IM, third in the 200 IM and 1,500 freestyle, eighth in the 200 backstroke and 400 freestyle, 11th in the 200 freestyle and 14th in the 100 backstroke. His time in the 200 breaststroke ranks fourth in the country for 13-year-olds.
Daniella Preston finished second in the 11-12 girls 400 IM, 10th in the 400 freestyle, 14th in the 100 backstroke, 15th in the 50 backstroke and 100 butterfly, 18th in the 200 IM and 20th in the 200 freestyle.
Nandina Kondhare placed fourth in the 8-and-under girls 200 freestyle; 10th in the 50 butterfly, 100 backstroke and 100 breaststroke; 11th in the 100 freestyle, 14th in the 50 breaststroke, 16th in the 50 freestyle and 19th in the 50 backstroke.
Erica Samuel finished fourth in the open girls 200 backstroke; fifth in the 1,500 freestyle; seventh in the 200 freestyle; eighth in the 200 IM, 400 IM and 400 freestyle; 10th in the 100 butterfly, 11th in the 100 backstroke, 14th in the 100 freestyle and 17th in the 50 freestyle.
Cole Ehara, competing unattached as a new Club Olympia member, took seventh in the 50 breaststroke; eighth in the 100 freestyle and 200 freestyle; 10th in the 50 freestyle, 100 backstroke and 200 IM; 14th in the 50 backstroke and 15th in the 100 backstroke.
Zoie Chandelkar finished sixth in the 9-10 girls 100 butterfly. Jahnavi Venugopal took 11th in the 8-and-under girls 100 breaststroke and 20th in the 50 breaststroke. Joshua Pendleton was 13th in the 8-and-under boys 100 freestyle and 17th in the 50 backstroke.
Aidan McAlister placed 14th in the open boys 200 backstroke, 15th in the 400 freestyle, 19th in the 400 IM and 20th in the 100 backstroke and 200 freestyle. Pratt Badve took 18th in the 13-14 boys 100 breaststroke. Arjun Bhadoria was 19th in the 13-14 boys 400 IM.
Hannah Manlief finished 22nd in the open girls 100 breaststroke, and Brooklyn Pendleton was 22nd in the 9-10 girls 200 freestyle. Aidan Castillo and Jayanth Venugopal swam personal-bests in all of their events.
Donner swimmers compete
Four Donner Swim Club athletes competed in the TYR Pro Series meet at the Indiana University Natatorium at IUPUI.
Betsy King swam the 50 freestyle, 100 freestyle and 200 freestyle. Darby Coles competed in the 50 freestyle, 100 freestyle, 200 freestyle, 400 freestyle and 100 backstroke.
Sam Russell swam the 400 IM, 100 breaststroke and 200 IM. Olivia Morlok competed in the 1,500 freestyle and 800 freestyle.
