Trine University students earn honors

Four students from Bartholomew County were named to the president’s list at Trine University.

Columbus residents Tanner Bennett and Tonya Sims, along with Clayton Wilson and Rob Critney, both of Hope, earned the honor for the spring semester. To be named to the president’s list, students must complete a minimum of 15 credit hours and have a grade point average of 3.75 to 4.0.

Shea graduates from University of Kansas

A Columbus native recently earned a degree from the University of Kansas.

Nicholas Robert Shea graduated from the university May 13 with a master of arts in Slavic Languages and Literature.

Local resident to study overseas

A Columbus native attending Belmont University will study overseas this summer.

Sierra Lax is among 700 students participating in one of 43 faculty-led Maymester and summer study abroad experiences across the world, according to the university.

Students in the program are traveling to Argentina, Belfast, London, Israel, Jordan, Greece, Cambodia, Poland, Austria, Costa Rica, Florence, Rome, Portugal, Ireland, Scotland, Korea, South Africa, Germany, Haiti, India, Tanzania, Hawaii and other locations.
