A local man was arrested on charges of burglary and theft after he was accused of stealing a bicycle valued at $3,800 from a local store.
Columbus police were sent to Bicycle Station, 1201 Washington St., at 10 a.m. Saturday about a burglary that owners believed happened the previous day, said Lt. Matt Harris, Columbus Police Department spokesman.
The officers learned that Roosevelt Holliday, 63, Columbus had gone to the store to have his bicycle repaired and he was accused of going back to the business after the store had closed and taking a Trek mountain bike, Harris said.
Officers found Holliday in the 2700 block of Brentwood Drive where he was arrested on preliminary charges of burglary and theft and the stolen bicycle was recovered, Harris said.
