Hope farmer’s market debuts today

HOPE — Up to 15 vendors are expected for today’s kickoff of the third season for the Farmer’s Market of Hope.

The event in the Hope Town Square kicks off at 5 p.m. with a performance by the country ensemble known as the Night Owl Band.

Adding to the festival atmosphere will be a car and tractor cruise-in on the east side of the square. During the final market held last season, about 30 car owners brought their vehicles for show, as well as eight tractor owners.

The Farmer’s Market of Hope will continue to be held from 5 to 8 p.m. on the first Friday of every month through October. Organizers say they are hoping to add more children’s activities as this year’s season continues.
