Military helicopters and 2,300 members of the 26th Marine Expeditionary Unit from Camp Lejeune, North Carolina, began practicing landings and takeoffs in various locations around the county, training for deployment to Iraq and Afghanistan in the fall.

1993

Ray Crowe and Oscar Robertson headlined a group of former basketball greats who signed autographs at Walmart on National Road to promote Crowe’s book, “The Ray Crowe Story: A Legend in High School Basketball.”

1968

An alternate plan calling for overpasses across the railroad tracks and U.S. 31A South was presented at a public hearing on the construction of the proposed dual-lane pavement of State Road 46 West to Interstate 65.
