County fair begins Monday

The 138th Jennings County Fair, which runs from Monday through Saturday at the fairgrounds, is offering new activities and events this year, according to a fair board member.

New additions include a tractor pull, a fireworks show, a barn dance and a magic show, Jennings County Fair Board member Joe Diekhoff said.

The tractor pull is 7 p.m. Monday, the barn dance is 7 to 10 p.m. Saturday, with music by Keith Swinney, and the fireworks display follows the barn dance. Travis Easterling’s magic shows are noon Thursday in the Pavilion and 7 p.m. Thursday on the fairgrounds.

A bingo game will be conducted daily from 6 to 9 p.m. in the Activity Building. A New Bethel Fish Fry is planned for 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. Monday through Saturday. Midway rides begin Tuesday.

The Jennings County Fairgrounds are located at 4920 State Road 3 North in North Vernon.
