Two people were arrested after a Columbus police officer stopped a vehicle for a minor violation.

Shortly before midnight on Tuesday, Officer Lukas Nibarger stopped the vehicle near Second and Jackson streets and spoke to the driver, Tara S. Stark, 38, Columbus, and a passenger, Zachary A. Moore, 21, Columbus, said Lt. Matt Harris, Columbus Police Department spokesman.

Police determined Moore had a warrant for his arrest out of Jackson County and arrested him, Harris said. During a search of Stark’s vehicle, officers located a syringe in the center console, Harris said.

Stark was arrested on a preliminary charge of possession of a legend drug injection device, jail officials said.
