New officer, deputies hired

The Bartholomew County Sheriff’s Department has hired two new deputies and the Columbus Police Department has hired a new officer.

The sheriff’s department hired Dylan Prather and Frank Munoz-Jaime deputy sheriffs.

Prather is a native of Bartholomew County and resides in Columbus. He is a 2014 graduate of Columbus North High School and a graduate of IUPUC with degrees in business administration and criminal justice.

Munoz-Jaime is a native of Seymour, a graduate of Ball State University and a member of the U.S. Marine Corps Reserves.

Jeffrey Gilliam, 22, is CPD’s newest officer. He graduated from Jennings County High School and later attended Indiana State University, where he graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice.

Gilliam is currently a member of the Indiana National Guard and will begin his police training at the Indiana Law Enforcement Academy in Plainfield later this month.
