JNET officials arrest local man for dealing in methamphetamine

A local man was arrested on a warrant for dealing in methamphetamine after a traffic stop in Columbus.

The Joint Narcotics Enforcement Team arrested Jeremy S. Whittington, 39, Columbus, while Whittington was driving on Middle Road near Rocky Ford Road, said Lt. Matt Harris, Columbus Police Department spokesman.

Whittington was stopped for driving without a seat belt at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday , officers said.

The warrant was a result of a JNET drug dealing investigation that began in Seymour in 2017, Harris said.

Whittington was being held in the Bartholomew County Jail in lieu of $500,000 bond, jail officials said.
