Restaurant, brewery planned south of Walesboro

COLUMBUS, Ind. — A new brewery and restaurant south of Walesboro is set to open next spring.

812 Farms, which has been using two acres of land to grow hops — one of the main ingredients in beer, has received permission from The Columbus Board of Zoning Appeals to open a brewery, restaurant and event space on its 147-acre property at 1705 W. County Road 500S.

Business partners Aaron Harden and Joe Oliphant appeared before the BZA, detailing their plans for the project, located on a farm and the former Oak Knoll Golf Course. The property’s north-south borders are County Road 550S and 600S, and its east-west boundaries are County Road 200W and 150 W, east of Interstate 65.
