On Tuesday, July 3rd, 2018, Ms. Joy Flo Loper, loving sister and Aunt “Flo” to three generations of nieces and nephews, passed away at her home with her family by her side at the age of 77.

Joy was born on April 10, 1941 in Jackson County, to George and Marie (Lutes) Loper.

She graduated from Crothersville High School in 1960.

Hardworking and dependable, Joy was employed at the US Shoe Corporation, Ponderosa Restaurant, Hoosier Christian Village and Cummins Engine Co., where she retired after 30 years of service.

Joy had a deep love for her family, friends and faith. She was baptized and attended Crothersville Nazarene Church.

She will be remembered for her giving spirit and kindness, she was always willing to help others. She opened her home and heart to many through the years.

She enjoyed sitting with her family on her back porch visiting and two of her favorite hobbies were weaving rugs and ceramics.

She was known for a great sense of humor and quick wit.

Joy is preceded in death by her father, George, her mother, Marie; and sister, Wanda Maxie.

She survived by her sisters, Shirley Thom and Karen (Robert) Burbrink; friend, Shirley Floyd; brother in law, Steve Maxie; one niece, Connie Weathersby, four nephews, Brian Maxie, Mark Thom, Douglas Burbrink and Philip Burbrink; 12 great-nieces and -nephews; and seven great-great-nieces and -nephews, and a special young gal, Realidy Spicer.

Funeral service will be 1 p.m., Saturday, July 7, 2018, at Voss & Sons Funeral Service, with the Rev. Mark Wooten officiating. Family and friends may visit at Voss & Sons Funeral Service on Saturday from 11 a.m. until time of service. Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery.

Memorials may be designated to the Don and Dana Myers Cancer Center or Hospice of Schneck Medical Center, through the Voss & Sons Funeral Service.
