SEYMOUR
Mr. Jack L. Riehl, 77, of Seymour, passed away on Thursday, July 5, 2018 at Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis. He was born in Champaign-Urbana, Illinois on April 6, 1941 to the late Jerome P. and Clara L. (Taylor) Riehl.
Funeral services will be conducted by Voss & Sons Funeral Service at Central Christian Church on Monday, July 9 at 11 am with Rev. Ben Yee officiating. Burial will follow at Riverview Cemetery.
Family and friends may call at the church on Sunday from 4-8 pm and on Monday from 10 am until time of service. A Masonic service will be held on Sunday at 7:30 pm.
He was a graduate of Seymour High School, class of 1960, where he served as president of the Owls Nest. He attended IUPUI and Franklin College. On April 9, 1961, he married Loretta Davis; she survives. He retired from Cummins after 36 years of service. He served as an Elder and taught Sunday School at Central Christian Church. He was past Master of Jackson Masonic Lodge #146 and past patron of Seymour Chapter 134 Order of the Eastern Star. He served on the board of directors for the International Order of the Rainbow for Girls in Seymour. He touched many lives as a volunteer driver for Shriner’s Hospital for Children. He loved wood working, cars and taking many trips on his motorcycles. He was also a professional photographer for 15 years.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Loretta Riehl; daughter, Jacqueline (Scott) Riehl-Knell; sister, Marcia (Danny) Reeves; as well as several nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents; infant daughter, Laura Riehl; brothers, John Riehl and Glen Riehl; and sisters, Deloris Seger and Shirley Barker.
