• the Bartholomew County 4-H Fair board for another tremendous fair.

• the wonderful “Columbus In Rocks” group that celebrated its one-year anniversary by hiding hundreds of rocks and giving prizes.

• all the rescuers who saved the Thailand soccer team and coach from the submerged cave, and sadness for the one rescuer who lost his life doing so.

• the woman in the maroon Buick Verano in the McDonald’s drive-through on National Road that paid for the officer’s breakfast Tuesday morning.

• the young couple in the white car that helped us carry a metal swing to our yard, from the grandmother in Hope.

• Columbus Transit for agreeing to provide free shuttle service to the Bartholomew County 4-H Fairgrounds for Kids Day today.

• my nice neighbor, Pete J., for his much needed help in trimming my house bushes, from Evelyn.

• all those individuals in Thailand who worked so hard to successfully free the 12 boys on the soccer team and their coach.

• President Trump for his outstanding selection for the U.S. Supreme Court.

• Roberta, Wanda and Allen for helping out while I’ve been under doctor’s care — love, your mother.

• Columbus Parks and Recreation Department for the fun Bubble Galore event at Donner Park.

• Sandy Bush, Brian and Jacob Niedbalski, Blake Helt and Mike Vincent for all your help with the move on Friday and Saturday.

• my brother Scott Maley for doing his job as normal and saving lives.

• the Let’s Bake a Pie participants who donated their pies and to those who purchased pies to help fund the Bartholomew County Extension Homemakers scholarship.

• Brendan Boewe and Elizabeth Frasier, winners of the Bartholomew County Extension Homemakers 2018 scholarships.

Onions to …

• people that use the alley between Hughes and Ross streets for illicit purposes.

• people who don’t realize that if we were on Central time, fireworks would start and end an hour sooner.

• renters who continue to pay the high rent that landlords charge in Columbus.

• the downtown Columbus building for not dealing with its pigeon problem.

• our country’s deferential treatment toward Russia.

• the minister who searches his phone during church prayer.
