1) Take my word for it: The local vocal group Lei’gacy, also known as the Cox Family Singers, probably could croon “Happy Birthday” and make it sound remarkably innovative and fresh. Members have performed in Bartholomew County and elsewhere for most of the 30 years I have been here, and their Christmas concerts remain a heartwarming staple. 2) You and your family can have a large time around the Large Arch sculpture at the Bartholomew County Public Library Plaza, 536 Fifth St. in downtown Columbus. And it’s free. Sculptor Henry Moore’s Birthday Party is slated from 6 to 7:30 p.m. July 28 at the site. The library and Columbus Indiana Architectural Archives are co-presenting the event.
