A local woman has been arrested and accused of attempting to sell one of the Bartholomew County Fair Board’s Kubota utility vehicles that was stolen from the fairgrounds within the last few days.
On Wednesday, Bartholomew County Sheriff’s Department detectives and members of the Joint Narcotics Enforcement Team investigated and determined the vehicle was located at a property in the Garden City Trailer Park, which is near the fairgrounds, deputies said.
Detectives went to the residence and talked with Rhonda Oliphant, 45, of 611 Garden St., and learned the utility vehicle was hidden on the property, deputies said. It has an approximate value of $9,000, deputies said.
Oliphant was allegedly attempting to sell the Kubota, and knew it was stolen, according to deputies.

She was arrested and charged with felony auto theft — receiving stolen auto parts, deputies said. A search warrant was obtained for the residence and an investigation is continuing.
She was being held in the Bartholomew County Jail in lieu of $7,500 bond, jail officials said.
