Around Town – August 1

Orchids to …

• Tom Jekel and Brian Blair for their interest and a warm, informative article announcing the Orphan Grain Train open house celebration.

• Randy Sims, Stacy Bennett and Curt Dunn for helping out with the yard — we are overwhelmed with your kindness, from Todd and Joann.

• the Koch brothers for supporting Mike Pence and being pro-choice.

• all our awesome police officers, thank you.

• special counsel Robert Muller for draining the swamp by securing numerous guilty pleas and bringing wrongdoers to justice.

• Jeff Bay at the Bay Corporation for such a great job on our lawn, from the White house.

• Attorney General Jeff Sessions for starting a religious liberty task force through the Justice Department to protect our Christian values from being attacked.

• the city trash and sanitation department for the good customer service on Central Avenue.

• the newspaper carrier on Meadowlark Lane in Columbus for leaving the paper right on the front door during Tuesday’s heavy rainstorm.

• Ronnie, Judy, George and Jean for the wonderful time at dinner and your cherished friendships.

• President Trump for making America great again.

Onions to …

• the many misguided who feel that Democrats vote “no” on Trump proposals due to their losing the election rather than his abhorrent policies that the Republicans rubber-stamp.

• fake news that will not give the administration a fair evaluation of all the great things being done for our great country.

• anyone who thinks paying $130,000 for an affair with a porn star is the sign of a good businessman.

• people comparing bike programs of cities five times the size of Columbus who can’t understand why we have dwindling numbers of bike renters; we aren’t the size of all those cities.

• all the drivers who make driving in the rain much difficult than it needs to be.

• the law enforcement agency that created a video for social media rather than focusing on eliminating the drug problem in our community.

• the church that allowed the couple to ask for money after their weekend service.

• those building an assisted living Medicaid complex on State Street, which doesn’t need every unwanted project dumped on us.

• the pharmacy with two drive-thru pharmacy lanes that needs a sign telling the drivers to get in one line or the other.

• whoever is responsible for keeping the brand-new stadium restrooms locked 95 percent of the time while removing the port-o-pots.

• bicyclists who ride on the sidewalk after the city spent thousands to make a special bicycle lane for them.

• the person who continues to whine about Trump’s tax returns when there are way more important issues to worry about.

• the high cost to taxpayers every year of maintaining illegals who won’t be deported by our politicians.
