Two arrested after Gladstone Avenue traffic stop

Bartholomew County Sheriff deputies arrested two people on drug-related charges after a traffic stop at 11:49 p.m. Monday near 415 Gladstone Ave.

Deputy Andrew Dougan stopped the vehicle and identified the driver as Jeffrey N. Beckwith, 47, of 2166 Autumn Lane, deputies said. Beckwith was identified as a habitual traffic violator, deputies said.

Dougan detected the odor of marijuana coming from inside the vehicle and located numerous drug-related items including multiple types of pills, marijuana, paraphernalia and about 20 grams of methamphetamine, deputies said.

Beckwith was arrested on preliminary charges of possession of marijuana, possession of paraphernalia, possession of a controlled substance, possession of a legend drug and operating a vehicle as a habitual traffic violator, deputies said.

Beckwith’s passenger, identified as Dena K. McFarlin, 47, Seymour, was arrested on preliminary charges of possession of marijuana, possession of paraphernalia and possession of methamphetamine (between 10 and 28 grams).
