COLUMBUS
Carolyn Sue Douglas, 77, of Riverside Court, died Wednesday August 8, 2018, at St. Francis Hospital.
She was born July 24, 1941, in Columbus, the daughter of Marshall W. and Rosie E. Elkins Ross.
She married Paul Douglas and he preceded her in death in 1964.
Carolyn retired in 2001 after 30 years of service with Cummins Engine Co.
She was a member of Columbus Baptist Church and was a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother.
The funeral will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, August 13, 2018, at Jewell-Rittman Family Funeral Home with Pastor Charles Kennedy officiating. Visitation will be 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday and one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will be at Garland Brook Cemetery.
Memorial donations can be made to Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation in Carolyn’s memory.
She is survived by her sons, David A. Douglas of Columbus and Paul Thomas Douglas of West Virginia, daughters, Deana R. (Ed) Stater and Tonya L. Douglas, both of Columbus, and Cherie (Ronnie) Betz of Terre Haute; sisters, Sandra K. Ross and Betty L. Ross, both of Columbus; 15 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Paul; a daughter, Kimberly Smith; and brothers, John Ross, Mac Ross, Joseph Ross and Robert Ross.
