Ninako (Nina) Witzerman, 83, passed away on Monday, August 13, 2018. She was a resident of New Whiteland, Indiana, and formerly a resident of Cleveland, Ohio, Columbus, Indiana, and Rocky Mount, North Carolina.

She was born and raised in Tokyo, Japan, and married Marvin R. Witzerman at the U.S. Embassy in Tokyo, Japan, on December 10, 1958. He survives.

Survivors in Japan include a brother, sister-in-law, two nephews, and three nieces. She was preceded in death by her parents, an elder brother and sister. Survivors in the U.S. include sons, David L. (Terry) Witzerman of Fishers, Indiana, James A. (Terry) Witzerman of Greenwood, Indiana, Jane M. Williams of Elm City, North Carolina, two daughters-in-law, a son-in-law, six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Nina was a proud homemaker and loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She received Christian instruction at Concordia Lutheran Church in Independence, Ohio, and was baptized and confirmed there on April 4, 1965. Nina became a naturalized U.S. Citizen on May 28, 1975.

Visitation will be held at G.H. Herrmann Greenwood Funeral Home at The Gardens at Olive Branch, 1605 South State Road 135, Greenwood, Indiana 46143, between 4:00 PM and 8:00 PM on Thursday, August 16, and the funeral is scheduled the following day, Friday, August 17, 10:00 AM, at the funeral home. Memorial contributions in lieu of flowers may be made to the at Mount Olive Lutheran, 9 for the building fund) 5171 W. Smokey Row Road, Greenwood, Indiana 46143.
