The 24th biannual reunion of the descendants of the late Henry and Mary Newkirk Schafstall was Aug. 5 at the Fellowship Hall at St. Paul-Borchers Church in Seymour.
The families of the late Lillian Schafstall Rust, born Feb. 25, 1880, were hosts.
After a pitch-in lunch, Ruth Ann Hendrix called the meeting to order. There were 34 in attendance. Family members from five of the 10 sisters were present: Myrtle, Lillian, Delia, Ethel and Sophia.
Questions were asked and prizes awarded. Bertha Otte was the oldest at age 95; the youngest was Harper Rust.
There are five living first cousins: Carol Rust Kastner, Vera Rust Hoevener Monroe, Chester (Linda) Rust, Waldron Rust, and Bertha Otte.
A collection was gathered. The next reunion will be Aug. 9, 2020, with the late Ethel Schafstall Dringenburg family hosting.
