The other five placed in the top third of 30 participants per tractor discipline.
The state competition on Aug. 11 showcased 180 youth from all over Indiana who excel in the 4-H tractor project. The state contest was the third round of competition for the 4-Hers as they had to earn the right to represent their extension area at the state level.
Here’s how the local 4-H’ers fared:
Daniel Murphy: champion Senior Lawn Tractor
Joel Murphy: reserve champion Junior Zero Turn Lawn
Brendan Boewe: blue ribbon Senior Ag Tractor
Joel Beck: blue ribbon Senior Ag Tractor
