COLUMBUS
Clifford Dean Lee, 84, of Columbus, died at 12:40 p.m. August 24, 2018, at his home.
Clifford was born April 16, 1934, in Brownstown, the son of Raymond Lee and Ethel Bedwell Overshiner . He married Barbara J. Payton on August 2, 1982.
He enlisted in the U.S. Navy at the age of 17. After an honorable discharge, he went to work for L.L. Meyers where he was supervised by his Uncle Ray. He retired from Cummins in 1985 and then he was a consultant for C.D.C., Rocky Mount, North Carolina. Clifford owned and operated Lee Electric and was a life-time member of VFW Post #1987.
The funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday, August 28, 2018, at Brownstown Christian Church, 703 W. Spring St., Brownstown, Indiana, with his nephew, Brother Doug Lee, officiating. Calling will be 4 to 8 p.m. Monday at Jewell-Rittman Family Funeral Home and one hour prior to the service on Tuesday at the church. Burial will be at Fairview Cemetery, Brownstown.
Memorial contributions may be made to Our Hospice of South Central Indiana or VFW Post #1987, Columbus, through the funeral home.
Survivors include his wife, Barbara; sons, Gregory Lee, Brownstown, Donald (Tammy) Tungate, Columbus and Pat (Jymmea) Tungate, Kenosha, Wisconsin and daughters, Carnita (James) McPherson, Madison, Christina Hilderbrand, Columbus and Charmella (Gary) Ping, North Vernon; a brother, Speed (Beverly) Collingsworth, Lantana, Texas; 16 grandchildren; and 30 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Bill Lee.
Services were entrusted to the Jewell-Rittman Family Funeral Home.
