Owls top Olympians

SEYMOUR — Columbus East came out on the short end of a 181-198 decision Monday at Shadowood.

Ellie Buntin led the Olympians with a 46. Kati Brunn added a 48, Lauren Steinwedel and Harley Gant each shot 52 and Peyton Meier had a 54.

Eagles take third

BRAZIL — Ashley Masteller won medalist honors with a 79 to lead Brown County to a third-place finish in the Western Indiana Conference Tournament.

Northview won with 372. Indian Creek finished second with a 384, followed by the Eagles at 393.

Ainslie Wintin carded a 99 for Brown County. Allison Stogsdill added a 102, Taylor Poling shot 115 and Abby Padgett had a 127.

Cougars sweep Tigers

CROTHERSVILLE — South Decatur pulled off a sweep at Crothersville, winning 25-17, 25-20, 25-23.

Lana Bell and Sam Goodfellow each pounded 10 kills, Whitnye Burton recorded 19 assists, Brook Somers and Goodfellow each had an assist block, Karah Biddinger notched 23 digs and Somers served eight aces to lead the Cougars (3-6).

Also for South Decatur, Somers pounded six kills, and Hannah Ballard tallied 11 assists. Burton added 14 digs, and Bell and Bri Collins each served three aces.

Hawks fall in three

MADISON — The Columbus Hawks homeschool team came close in the second set, but fell to Christian Academy of Madison 25-18, 25-22, 25-16.

Lucy Herridge pounded four kills, Grace Lorimor recorded six assists, Lucy Herrige and Haley Beth Rutledge each had one block, Ava Farnsley notched six digs and Grace Lorimor and Sarah Lorimor each served three aces to lead the Hawks.

Grace Lorimor also added three kills and three digs, and Elisabeth White had three kills, two assists and two digs. Sarah Lorimor tallied three assists, and Ann Marie Gandy served two aces.
