SCIPIO, Ind. — A 19-year-old Jennings County man died from fatal injuries sustained in a two-vehicle accident.
The Indiana State Police and Jennings County Sheriff’s Department responded to a crash on State Road 7 at County Road 500N in Jennings County at about 4:30 p.m. Tuesday, according to Sgt. Stephen Wheeles, public information officer for the Indiana State Police – Versailles Post.
A 1993 Oldsmobile passenger car driven by Dalton Rinker, of North Vernon, was traveling eastbound on County Road 500N at State Road 7. Rinker’s vehicle entered State Road 7 into the path of a southbound 2018 Freightliner pulling a trailer, driven by Leonel Guillen, 39, of Indianapolis. Guillen’s vehicle struck the driver’s side of Rinker’s vehicle, according to the initial investigation by ISP Trooper Jacob Tolle, of the Indiana State Police-Versailles Crash Reconstruction Team.
